What you should known  when choosing a new hair style.

When you first walk into a salon, several different style options may come to your hairstylist’s mind. As a client, you can help your stylist create the look that’s best for you by clearly expressing your likes and dislikes. Be clear about your needs. For instance are you very active in sports? Do you have a job that requires you to portray a certain image? How much time are you willing to spend on your hair? Do you want to keep a certain length? Think about your lifestyle and the requirements it places on your hairstyle.

This information will be very helpful in determining what look will suit you best. Along with listening to your lifestyle needs, your stylist will need to evaluate your physical needs as well. Factors like hair density, growth patterns, facial features and body shape will all have to be considered when determining a suitable style. If color is an element of the look you are seeking, your skin tone and eye color will have to be considered as well. The look that works on a model or celebrity in a magazine may not always work for you.

Once all of these factors have been considered, your stylist will determine the techniques he or she will use to create your new look. Many haircuts can be further enhanced through color or permanent waving. Color services may include a subtle shade change, a dramatic new color or a few strategically placed highlights. There are a variety of color products to suit your particular needs. Perm services could include a gentle body wave to add texture and movement or a spiral wrap to give long hair fabulous curls.

Whatever you decide, make sure your stylist and you are on the same wave-length. Have your stylist communicate the image they have conceived for you and explain how they will go about achieving that look. Only after you and the stylist agree on the image and the process should the service begin.

After the stylist has created a new look for you, be sure to learn to style the cut yourself. Have your stylist demonstrate how she achieved the finished look and show you what tools and products you may need at home to do the same. A great new look is wasted if you can’t achieve the same style yourself at home
